Little Mix's Perrie unveils her debut solo single, "Forget About Us"
Perrie Edwards, of X Factor winners Little Mix, has just released her debut solo single, "Forget About Us".
The track was co-written by Ed Sheeran, David Hodges and Steve Solomon, and is taken from Perrie's forthcoming debut solo album which also features RAYE and Jin Jin.
“I look back on past relationships and do think happily about those times. Do I want to be there now? No. It didn’t work out that way and if it was supposed to be it would have happened. Relationships have been a huge part of my life and they've made me who I am now. I think it’s a nice sentiment to be honest about and it’s super relatable," Perrie says of the new song.
Speaking to NME ahead of a private listening party, Perrie said: “What I wanted to make sure of was that every song [from] a different genre had a sister or sibling on the album, so it’s not completely mismatched. It makes sense when you listen to it as a body of work.”
Perrie's Little Mix bandmate Leigh-Anne recently made her solo debut with last year's debut single “Don’t Say Love” and it's follow-up “My Love", a collaboration with Ayra Starr. Last month, she released "Stealin’ Love", as the first taken from a recently announced collection of songs that precede her debut solo album.
