Listen to two tracks from A Complete Unknown (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)
Columbia Records and Searchlight Pictures have announced the release of A Complete Unknown (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) album.
Columbia Records unveils the first two singles from the Soundtrack, “Girl From The North Country” and “Like A Rolling Stone”. On “Girl From The North Country” the film’s stars Timothée Chalamet (Bob Dylan) and Monica Barbaro (Joan Baez) duet on the 1963 classic by Dylan, which was later re-cut as a 1969 collaboration with Johnny Cash.
Regarding the soundtrack, Mangold commented, “To me, there was only one way to make this film — to cast actors that are profoundly talented, ambitious (and brave enough!) to inhabit the whole of the artists they would portray. And in order to inhabit that world those artists had to be able to sing the songs.. We were never out to replace the power, beauty and majesty of what exists, but rather, to celebrate it.”
The album will arrive in tandem with Academy Award nominee James Mangold’s A Complete Unknown, starring Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan, being released in cinemas. The cast also includes three-time Academy Award nominee Edward Norton, Elle Fanning, Monica Barbaro, Boyd Holbrook, and Scoot McNairy.
A Complete Unknown and Complete Unknown (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is scheduled for release on 25 December.
