Listen to Rosa Rugosa, the debut solo EP from The Knife's Olof Dreijer
Olof Dreijer of The Knife has shared his long-awaited solo EP, Rosa Rugosa, which marks his return to the dance music scene after almost a decade.
Speaking of the new collection of songs, Dreijer says: "I hope these tracks show how much fun I’ve had making them. They capture a joyous part of my life coming back and making my own music again. I wanted to make something warm, organic, emotional, and groovy in a way that excites me".
Elaborating further on his socials, he adds: "Alongside the previously released title track are two all new tracks, Cassia and Camelia, and I hope they show how much fun I’ve had making them. I think they capture a joyous part of my life coming back making my own music again. I wanted to make something warm, organic and emotional and groovy in a way that excites me."
Despite keeping a lower profile in recent years, Olof Dreijer has been a driving force in music, serving as a mentor, producer, and collaborator for diverse artists. His work with Tunisian multi-instrumentalist and composer Houeida Hedfi, Swedish-Kurdish pop sensation Zhala, and a slew of remixes for artists like Mehdi Bahmad, Emmanuel Jal, Nyaruach, and Robyn's collaboration with Röyksopp have demonstrated his far-reaching influence. Dreijer's long musical journey spans various genres, from disco and house to hip-hop, jungle, EBM, and trance.
This release coincides with a string of shows including C2C London and Dekmantel Sao Paulo throughout October and November, following Unsound Krakow, Dekmantel, and Panoramabar.
