Watch rising indie-folk duo lilo cover Simon and Garfunkel at last year's End of the Road Festival
London indie-folk duo lilo played a very last minute secret session for Best Fit at End of the Road Festival back in September last year.
Friends for over a decade, Christie Gardner and Helen Dixon's gossamer harmonies and finely-spun arrangements calls to mind the ethereality of Laura Marling, but their recent material has found them breaking new ground, building out from a fragile, acoustic framework and more towards a full-bodied, band-driven sound.
For their secret session, they took on a cover of Simon and Garfunkel's mid-'60s folk classic "Homeward Bound", which you can watch below. The duo's debut EP is out now via quality boutique indie label dalliance recordings and they're currently finishing up their debut record.
The duo joined the likes of Samia, Angel Olsen, Future Islands, Caitlin Rose and The Anchoress who all played for Best Fit's Secret Sessions during last year's event. The sessions have become a key part of End of the Road each year, bringing together artists from across the line-up in a series of short sets, exclusive covers, collaborations, and live interviews and Q&As.
