Zedd, Charlie Puth, Ronnie Wood and more pay tribute to Liam Payne following his death at 31
One Direction singer Liam Payne has died aged 31, after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires.
Liam Payne appeared on season five of The X Factor, in 2010, and joined One Direction alongside Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan. He was in Buenos Aires to see the latter who was performing there earlier in the month.
Police in Buenos Aires say that officers at the scene were initially responding to reports "of an aggressive man who may have been under the effects of drugs and alcohol". When they arrived at the hotel, they were told a loud sound had been heard in an interior courtyard, and quickly after, they discovered the body. It has been reported that Payne has died following a fall from the third floor of the hotel he was staying at.
"RIP Liam… I can’t believe this is real… absolutely heartbreaking," wrote Zedd, who collaborated with Payne on "Get Low". "Life is short and fragile… You never know what people are going through. We live in times where being rude, divisive and mean is normal; sometimes even celebrated. It doesn’t have to be this way. We should do our best to be kind, supportive and mindful."
The body of Liam Payne is transported to the morgue in Buenos Aires.
