Legendary songwriter Burt Bacharach dies aged 94
Legendary US songwriter and composer Burt Bacharach, who was behind hits including "I Say a Little Prayer", "What's New Pussycat?" and more, has died aged 94.
According to The Guardian, Bacharach's publicist confirmed to The Washington Post that he died at his LA home. Although his publicist didn't provide a specific cause, multiple reports claim he died of natural causes.
Bacharach was behind huge hits including Aretha Franklin's "I Say a Little Prayer", Tom Jones' "What’s New Pussycat?", and songs released by Dusty Springfield, Stevie Wonder, The Drifters, Dionne Warwick, Nat King Cole, Cilla Black, Elvis Costello and more.
Last month Costello and Bacharach announced their The Songs of Bacharach & Costello box set to celebrate their 30-year songwriting partnership. It's due out on 3 March.
