Laufey shares the new track "Bewitched"
Los Angeles-based Icelandic-Chinese artist, producer and multi-instrumentalist Laufey reveals new track “Bewitched".
"Bewitched” is the title track from her forthcoming album. The song features accompaniment from the world-renowned, London-based Philharmonia Orchestra, a favourite orchestra of Hollywood studios who have used them for films such as Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Baby Driver, The King and I, and many more.
""Bewitched" is a love song. I wanted the Philharmonia Orchestra to illustrate that feeling when you’re first falling in love with someone, and for it to emulate the thoughts that run through your head after a perfect first date," says Laufey.
The accompanying video was shot in London by director Lewis Cater.
Laufey recently covered the George and Ira Gershwin's jazz standard "But Not For Me" live in session exclusively for The Line of Best Fit in partnership with Crouch End Studios.
Bewitched follows Laufey’s 2022 debut full-length, Everything I Know About Love, and her new project A Night At The Symphony, which was recorded a few months ago with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra during a two-night run at Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavík.
"This is a love album, whether it be a love towards a friend or a lover or life. The first album also touched a lot on things like moving out of my childhood home and moving into a new city for the first time – being an adult," Laufey says. "With this one, I’ve experienced a little bit more of that, and I’m writing about the magic in the love of being young.”
Laufey's second album, Bewitched, is set for release on 8 September via AWAL Recordings.
