Zomby & more to remix Darkstar for two new EPs
-
Electronic trio Darkstar have revealed that they are to release two new EPs, each featuring remixed tracks from this year’s News From Nowhere LP.
The album marked a departure from the dubstep energy of their debut, even drawing comparisons to Sufjan Stevens, so fans nostalgic for the dance potential of ’Aidy’s Girl Is A Computer’ can look forward to these new reworkings produced by Richard Formby.
Entitled ’01484′ and ‘HD7′ , the band has explained that these represent the dial and postal code of Huddersfield and its surrounding areas, chosen because the remixes are “an extension of the record News From Nowhere which was recorded in Slaithwaite, West Yorkshire.”
‘HD7′ is out later this year and will feature a remix by Zomby, while ’01484′ - available digitally and on 12″ vinyl from 15 October - is set to include remixes of ‘Young Hearts’ and ‘Armonica’, as well as Motor City Drum Ensemble’s remix of ‘A Day’s Pay for a Day’s Work’ on the flip side.
