Zola Jesus unveils trailer featuring sinister new music
Zola Jesus has unveiled a sinister new trailer featuring static, menacing eyes, a stark monochrome palette, and new music.
Nika Roza Danilova's easily recognisable voice drones on from start to finish as shards of noise slide into earshot and engulf the images. It's pretty massive.
The end of the 31-second snippet also features some distorted letters that read 'Okovi' or 'Dkdvi' or Okogi' or something. Google Translate reckons that the former means 'chains' in Bosnian; 'O Kogi' means 'Rowing' in Japanese according to the same service. Dkdvi is gibberish in all languages.
Zola Jesus' latest album Taiga was released in 2014. There hasn't been much in the way of new music since then, but she did contribute to Run The Jewels' remix LP Meow The Jewels and recently collaborated with Black Asteroid.
