Zayn Malik lays it all out on debut solo single "Pillowtalk"
Former One Direction star Zayn Malik has dropped his debut single, "Pillowtalk", and announced his first solo album Mind Of Mine.
"Pillowtalk" is a sensual R&B number about fucking, and Malik's been blunt about that: "Everybody has sex, and it’s something people wanna hear about. It’s part of everybody’s life, a very big part of life."
It's quite a move away from the family-friendly pop fodder of his previous project.
Bouha Kazmi has directed the video, which features Malik and his partner Gigi Hadid, as well lots of dazzling visual effects.
Last night, Malik had a candid chat with Zane Lowe on Apple Music's Beats 1, where he dropped a few bombshells about his time in One Direction: "I think I always kind of wanted to go. From like the first year really, I never really wanted to be there in the band. I just gave it a go because it was there at the time and then when I realized the direction we were going in with the music, I instantly realized it wasn't for me because I realized I couldn't put any input in."
Mind Of Mine is expected later this year on RCA. "Pillowtalk" is out now.
