Zane Lowe to curate new Drive OST, listen to a brand new Chvrches song now
The primo soundtrack in 2011 noir movie Drive helped propel it to cult status and cement Ryan Gosling as one of the coolest guys to grace the silver screen. Chromatics? Kavinsky? College? Cliff Martinez? Electric Youth? Phwoar.
So, naturally, Zane Lowe and Radio 1 have teamed up with a bevy of big names to rescore the film. Baauer, Chvrches, Bastille, Laura Mvula, the 1975, BANKS, Foals, Jon Hopkins, Bring Me The Horizon, SBTRKT, Eric Prydz, the Neighbourhood, and ZCC (AKA Biffy Clyro's Simon Neil) have all contributed original content to the fresh soundtrack (well, all bar one). The whole shebang is named Radio 1 Rescores: Drive - Curated by Zane Lowe.
The new edition of Drive will air on BBC3 on 30 October. You will be able to switch between the both versions of the soundtrack. Drive's director Nicolas Winding Refn has put his support behind the project, and Lowe has described it as "the most ambitious, awesome thing [he's] ever done."
Drive's director Nicolas Winding Refn has also put his support behind the project.
