Yumi Zouma announce debut record Yoncalla, share lead single "Keep It Close To Me"
Dreamy New Zealanders Yumi Zouma have at long last detailed their debut record, Yoncalla.
They've also reeled off lead cut "Keep It Close To Me", an effortlessly charming spritz of woozy ether-pop.
Guitarist Charlie Ryder says of the album's creation: “Yumi Zouma has always been an exercise in refining ideas and collaborating, but this was the first time we weren’t limited or protected by distance. With Yoncalla, the process was different, and it can be scary to present raw ideas to your friends ‐ but it’s also incredible to see songs evolve through the sparks of inspiration that bounce between people in the same room.”
The album art has been created by Henrietta Harris, who hand-drew each member's portrait.
Yoncalla is out 27 May on Cascine. It follows their EP and EP II releases from 2014 and 2015 respectively.
As well as the record details and new track, Yumi Zouma have detailed a lengthy world tour.
