Young Shields (FKA Monument Valley) shares new single "All Good"
Young Shields, the project of Ned Younger (FKA Monument Valley), has released his third single "All Good".
Ned Younger's last album as Monument Valley was 2014's Walking on Skin, and after bringing that project to a close in 2016, he's unveiled his third single under his new moniker Young Shields, titled "All Good".
The new song follows earlier outings "Like It Was Stolen" and "In the Quiet", and was recorded in London with producer and collaborator Peter Lyons (Peter & Kerry, LA Salami). The track also features contributions from trumpeter Sam Warner.
Younger tells Best Fit of the new single, ""All Good" is really a song about endings and how people navigate them, trying not to shy away from the complexity in endings which combine sadness with liberation, disappintment with hope. So what could first be heard as a melancholic, empty song ends up having some catharsis and some hope as well. The aim of the Young Shields project to exist in those between spaces, to reflect on what it means to be in the world as you get older and realise how much you don't know. I hope that comes across!"
The poet and songwriter named his Young Shields project after a Casiotone for the Painfully Alone song of the same name.
