You can now see if your music taste is compatible with your friends on Spotify
Spotify's new personalised shared playlist feature called Blend has been officially launched, and allows users to see if their music taste is compatible with a friend.
Blend was introduced in Beta form back in June, and today (31 August) it's now available to Spotify users worldwide. The personalised playlist feature allows users to put their music compatibility with friends to the test by being provided with a percentage score that shows whether the two friends have similar taste in music.
Similar to the annual Wrapped feature, each Spotify Blend playlist will automatically create a shareable story that will highlight songs that bring the friends together.
Blend also includes new cover art that makes each playlist easily identifiable.

To access the Blend feature, users will need to head to the 'Made for You' tab on the mobile app, and after pressing 'Create Blend', users will need to invite a friend to take part. Once the friend has accepted the invite, Spotify will create the custom cover art and playlist.
Arjun Narayen, Product Manager told Spotify's For the Record, "I think the thing that makes Blend such a unique product is the way it helps people find common ground with one another. Blend is one of the first products we’ve developed that requires multiuser personalization, which has its unique challenges but also helps us create some really delightful experiences when we get it right. Each time I make a Blend with someone there’s this awesome moment when we discover which artists and songs we both like and get to bond over how we discovered that artist or when we saw them in concert."
