Yorkston/Thorne/Khan unveil new single "The Shearing's Not For You"
James Yorkston, Jon Thorne, and Suhail Yusuf Khan have shared new Yorkston/Thorne/Khan single "The Shearing's Not For You", the second track to be lifted from their third album Navarasa : Nine Emotions.
"The Shearing's Not For You" lands after last month's lead single "Westlin' Winds".
James Yorkston first heard the traditional Scottish song "The Shearing's Not For You" sang by Aberdeenshire Traveller Jeannie Robertson.
The trio's new album Navarasa : Nine Emotions will be their first since 2017's Neuk Wight Delhi All-Stars.
Yorkston/Thorne/Khan's third LP is built around Navarasa - the nine emotions of the arts. Each song is linked to different emotions, including Shringara (love, beauty), Hasya (laughter, mirth, comedy), Raudra (anger), Karuna (sorrow, compassion or mercy), Bibhatsya (disgust), Bhayanaka (horror, terror), Veera (heroism, courage), Adbutha (surprise, wonder), and Shanta (peace, tranquillity).
