Yaya Bey becomes first signing to relaunched Big Dada label, shares new EP single "fxck it then"
Yaya Bey, who is the first artist to sign to the recently relaunched Big Dada label, has announced her upcoming self-produced EP The Things I Can’t Take With Me, alongside releasing "fxck it then" as the lead single.
Pioneering hip-hop label Big Dada announced its relaunch last month, and today (24 February) Yaya Bey has become the first new signing to the relaunched label.
On top of signing to the label, Yaya Bey has announced her forthcoming six-track EP The Things I Can’t Take With Me, which is led by first single "fxck it then".
The new track is accompanied by a Morgan B. Powell-directed video that Bey describes as "an ode to hood joints".
The Things I Can’t Take With Me was an unexpected project that formed after Bey set out to record her next album. She explains, "[The album] is going to be about the journey home to self. But on the way, there’s all this shit I gotta let go of, just the things I can’t take with me."
Bey's upcoming EP will follow last year's Madison Tapes, and marks her second project that's been recorded during the pandemic.
