Yala! Records announce Glasgow club night with Catholic Action to headline first show
Yala! Records is expanding its club nights to Glasgow's McChuills, where next month Catholic Action and Yakima will perform.
Founded in 2016 by The Maccabees' Felix White, Yala! Records has announced it'll be heading to Glasgow for a new club night residency.
Pub and music venue McChuills will be home for the Yala! Scottish club night after two years of successful performances at Bermondsey's Railway Arches.
Catholic Action have been revealed as the headliners for the first Glasgow night, with Yakima as a support.
Speaking about the new expansion, Felix White explains, "We genuinely couldn't think of a more perfect band to headline our first Yala! in Scotland than Catholic Action. They tore up the London Yala! stage during a special show this summer. Their debut In Memory Of was up there with any guitar record made in 2017, showcasing both an unbelievable ease with melody and an eerie understanding of songcraft for a band so early in their lifespan. From what we've heard of the follow-up it's going places too, so we are very excited to have talked them out of the studio to open Yala! in Scotland.’’
Yala!'s debut at Glasgow's McChuills will see White take to the decks after the live bands with the help of some special guests.
