Hyunhye Seo, aka Angela Seo of Xiu Xiu, has announced her debut album Strands, which is accompanied by a six-minute excerpt of the first piece "Strands I".
The "Strands I" excerpt is the first taster of Seo's debut album, which is made up of two long pieces that are divided into movements, and is accompanied by a self-directed video. The first segment shared today (28 April) marks Seo's first outing since releasing Xiu Xiu's OH NO album last month.
Strands will focus on Seo's interest in percussion, noise electronics and piano, with the first piece "Strands I" featuring electronics, gong and percussion, while "Strands II" focuses on piano.
Hyunhye Seo's "Strands" excerpt is out now. Seo's debut album Strands will be released via Room40 on 11 June, and is available to pre-order now.
