Wye Oak to release fourth album in early 2014
Baltimore folk duo Wye Oak have confirmed they’ll release their next album early next year.
Following on from 2011′s Civilian, the band’s fourth studio LP will be released via Merge Records. Speaking to SPIN recently, Jenn Wasner said of the LP: “There’s not a lick of guitar on this whole record. It basically inverts what we were responsible for.”
“The idea was really appealing to me because we had sort of hit a wall, just with the complete and total excess of touring that we had done, the use and overuse of that format… It just felt tired to me.”
