Win! One of two The Sound of McAlmont & Butler remastered deluxe vinyl collections
McAlmont & Butler - singer David McAlmont and Suede guitarist Bernard Butler - have released the remastered edition of their 1995 classic The Sound Of McAlmont & Butler, and we're giving away deluxe vinyl editions to two lucky winners.
Mastered from the original tapes by Butler himself, the set also includes 15 extra tracks, including singles, demos, instrumentals, BBC radio sessions, and "a new 2015 radio mix" of "What’s The Excuse This Time?". The 180 gram vinyl editions also come with a four-track 12" single, and a 12"x12" 32-page book of notes and archive shots.
A DVD disc, including the music videos for "Yes" and "You Do" and performances from Top Of The Pops and Later... with Jools Holland, features a 60-minute film of McAlmont & Butler in conversation from June this year. In the film, they interview each other, discuss the writing and recording of the original record, and perform three tracks acoustically.
The pair's fractuous partnership is well documented, but in recent years they couldn't be stronger - last year's Union Chapel charity shows were heralded as rapturous successes and sold out in minutes. Later this year, they head out on tour across the U.K., including a date at London's Roundhouse, and Ireland for one show in Dublin.
The Sound Of McAlmont & Butler 20 Year Remaster is out 2 October on Edsel Records. It's also available as a 2xCD/DVD package.
