Win: Tickets to see The Hidden Cameras celebrate 10 years with special show
It is hard to believe that it has been ten years since The Hidden Cameras first burst on to the scene with the Ecco Homo EP. Since then the band members and the methods may have changed (the Ecco Homo EP was recorded at home on a four-track, these days, technology allows for parts to be played all around the world then peiced together by frontman Joel Gibb in his Berlin home), but Gibb remains as vital and as passionate a songwriter as he has ever been, producing immedeately enjoyable tracks that reveal their complexities with each further listen. Gibb has put together a compilation, entitled “Ten Years of The Hidden Cameras”, which you can stream below.
The band have also announced their biggest London show to date, as part of the Barbican’s Blaze series. On 2 July The Hidden Cameras will headline “Canadian Blast: A Celebration of Contemporary Canadian Sound and Vision” – a review show that will also feature performances from TLOBF favourites Woodpigeon, Devon Sproule, and Chilly Gonzales (a solo piano set following a screening of his film Ivory Tower). There will also be a free stage running during the day, featuring the likes of Ryan Driver, former Shhh festival performer Maylee Todd, Linda McRae, Mantler, and Sandro Perri.
To win a pair of tickets simply email win@canadianblast.com with TLOBF in the subject line. Winners will be notified by email on 29 June.
Tickets for the event are available from the Barbican Website and more details can be found at Canadian Blast’s Canada Day site.
