Wes Anderson tribute album announced, Black Francis & more to contribute
Usually you get tribute albums paying homage to influential bands or late musicians, rarely is the subject a film director. But that’s all changing with this new compilation of artists covering songs from Wes Anderson movies.
I Saved Latin! will be released during Spring 2014, a 2-CD collection featuring the likes of Pixies frontman Black Francis, Minutemen co-founder Mike Watt, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin and others.
The musicians will take on classic aural moments from the soundtracks to Anderson’s films: Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore, Life Aquatic, Darjeeling Limited, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Bottle Rocket.
