Watch: Turtle - "Silent Weapons" [Premiere]
Producer/singer Turtle is sharing his pacey new video for "Silent Weapons", and a free download of new track "Us", exclusively on Best Fit.
Real name Jon Cooper, Turtle toys with emotions and atmospheres on "Silent Weapons", creating a pulsing post-pop paean with gravelly motoriks, Halls-like piano and an aloof Jon Hopkins solemnity. The visuals, of a man running around the streets of Portsmouth in the dead of night, mirror these tones perfectly. It's a distinctly 'night-time' track, but the image of a man lapping the arcades and soggy streets for eternity conjures a harrowing relationship between sight and sound.
"I wanted to have a cinematic piece that mirrored the emotion of the song and also the hypnotic rhythm of the beat."
The Colours EP is out on Beatnik Creative this 11 May . If you pre-order it now, you can get "Lavender" as an instant grat.
