Footage of Bill Fay performing on Later... with Jools Holland has surfaced on the YouTube account of his label Dead Oceans.
The acclaimed pianist performed on an episode a few years back - Fay's rendition of "The Never Ending Happening" is one of only two Jools Holland performances closed to a live audience (Scott Walker being the other).
It's also the only existing footage of Fay performing live anywhere in the world, and it's captivating. With just a piano and his voice, Fay leaves you breathless and speechless.
Fay's label saved the footage from obscurity - the BBC remove Jools Holland performances after a year, but it can now live on forever thanks to Dead Oceans.
Listen to the original version of "The Never Ending Happening".
