Watch: Standard Fare – Darth Vader [Premiere]
Here’s the video for the first single to be taken from Sheffield based trio Standard Fare whose new album Out Of Sight, Out Of Town sees the cold light of day on 12 December via Melodic Records.
‘Darth Vadar’ is a stunning three and a half minute meditation that constantly threatens to lift off and burst at the seams yet stays grounded throughout. Littered with lyrics seemlingly born out of a heartbroken teen’s diary: “I love you completely, darling you won’t lose me / So don’t you feel so blue” – that are sung with such conviction that, coupled with the downplayed instrumentation create a sparse, delicate and ridiculously touching ode to ‘sticking by the one you love’. Awwww.
