Watch Speedy Ortiz's video for new single "The Graduates"
Speedy Ortiz have lifted the lid on the video for "The Graduates", taken from new LP Foil Deer which came out this week.
In our review of the record - which took our Album Of The Week spot - Jon Putnam said: "...of course it’s fucking good, and there’s a healthy dose of my bias in that statement, but it’s also rooted in fact. What’s also fact is that Speedy Ortiz have leapt to the upper echelon of rock bands today. For the sheer, shrewd combination of [Sadie] Dupuis’ delicious wordplay, the nimble guitar melodies, and their dexterous control over dynamics, not many others can stack up."
Speaking about the meaning of the video with T Magazine, Dupuis said: “Speedy Ortiz is a group of merry pranksters trying to liberate our peers into the truth of love and freedom... through googly eyes.”
Foil Deer is out now on Carpark.
