Watch: Pix - "A Way To Say Goodbye"
Pix, 19-year-old Hannah Rodgers from Chipstead, south of LDN, has unveiled the video for her debut track, "A Way To Say Goodbye".
Born from mishearing a Cocteau Twins lyric, the track is pure joy. It's a warped folktronica number, with grand pop pianos, fey pastel-shade dream-haze synths, and embers at its core giving a wamrth of soul.
Before entering the fray as Pix, Rodgers bowled us over under her own name with "I Wake". It's not clear yet why she's metamorphosed into the blurry lavender smoke and heady fuzzwave of Pix, but she's retained a few certain folky embellishments that ensnared us originally.
Rodgers draws from a deep well of inspirations, listing Aphex Twin, Joni Mitchell, Ariel Pink, Bob Dylan, e e cummings, Watership Down, Stephen King novels and Art of Noise.
