Just over a month before his passing, Velvet Underground man Lou Reed spoke to Parrot Zik headphones for what would be his last-ever interview.
In the video, uploaded by Rolling Stone, Reed discusses his motives of becoming a musician (“You do what you love. . . or you get arrested”), the advancement of technology over the course of his lifetime (“I just remastered every album I have to take advantage of the new technology. And it was so beautiful it made me cry”) and the power of sound (“I am very emotionally affected by sound. Sounds are the inexplicable. . .There is a sound you hear in your head, it’s your nerves, or your blood running. It’s kind of amazing to hear that”).
