Watch: Loney Dear – My Heart [The Line Of Best Fit Premiere]
Hall Music, the long overdue return from Loney Dear finally drops next month and we’re thrilled to be able to bring you the brand new video for the gorgeous first single ‘My Heart’.
Directed by Andrew de Freitas for Newfoundland Tack whose previous credits include clips for The War On Drugs and Dan Deacon, the video depicts the slender tones of the track with grace and ease. Using intriguing animations superimposed over an almost stream-of-conscious roll of footage, the two elements blended together in soft hues and pastel colours: quietly calming and filled with comfort.
In addition to the video, we’re also pleased to announce a bunch of brand new Loney Dear concerts due to take place over the next few months. Starting off with a low-key performance at London’s Lexington opening for John Vanderslice, the shows will see Emil Svanängen perform solo, perhaps an occasional special guest. A drastic shift from shows in his native Sweden that – over the past couple of years – have seen full orchestras take on the LD back catalogue. Imagine a modern day Cantor or if JS Bach were to appear singing his heart out, and you’ll know what to expect.
When Emil returns to London in November he will play in the intimate setting of St Pancras Old Church over two nights. However, these shows will see somewhat of a twist: themed ‘The Blue Show’ and ‘The Green Show’ – seemingly to fit in with the artwork of Hall Music. Each concert will have a different set list and support act, the lighting colour coded and the background music a soundbed curated by Something In Construction and The Line Of Best Fit which, naturally, will reflect the colour of each show. What’s more, attendees will be rewarded for dressing in the appropriate colour. Early arrivals will also be able to enjoy free colour coded cocktails.
