Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar paid tribute to his fallen home state hero last night at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, covering 2Pac’s classic track “California Love”.
Prior to the performance, Lamar discussed seeing Tupac and Dre shooting a music video a few blocks from his childhood home - so you can bet that there’s some major influence there. Watch the clip beneath, with Kendrick merging “California Love” into “M.A.A.d City”.
