Watch highlights from Nils Frahm and A Winged Victory For The Sullen's BBC Proms show
You can now watch stunning higlights of Nils Frahm and A Winged Victory For The Sullen's BBC Proms show.
Frahm and AWVFTS performed at London's Royal Albert Hall last night (5 August).
The show was hosted by BBC 6 Music presenter Mary Anne Hobbs, who said ahead of the show: "Nils Frahm and A Winged Victory for the Sullen have changed my life, and the lives of so many of my listeners at the BBC. They are completely re-imagining classical music for the next generation, and are building beautiful new bridges into that world. Our Prom is very much the material realisation of a dream for me. The show will have been eleven months in production, and on August 5th we will be staging a new kind of performance at the Royal Albert Hall that the Proms has never before witnessed in its 120 year history.”
Frahm recently dropped Solo, a new record, to celebrate the inaugural Piano Day. He spoke ahead of the Proms show, saying: “Friends and journalists ask me how I feel to be taking part in the Proms since it was founded over a hundred years ago. It feels very flattering and should be a highlight of my musicianship. But let me tell you that this only came through because of the amazing Mary Anne Hobbs. Thank you Mary Anne and everyone at the BBC, and please don’t harm her if I mess it up!”
