Watch an animated Marc Maron talk about meeting Iggy Pop
Pitchfork.tv has released the latest episode of their “Frames” series, in which brief interviews are rendered as animations. Today’s episode features comedian/WTF-podcaster Marc Maron, who shares a few brief memories of interviewing the musicians he loves before relaying a story about meeting one of his favorite encounters, Iggy Pop.
In the first minute, Maron lets fly with a lot of information very quickly. He gives brief stories about past interviews with Jack White, Nick Lowe, Thom Yorke, Fiona Apple, and J. Mascis before launching into his Iggy tale. Maron notes his excitement about meeting the Stooges frontman and tells of their first encounter, in which the pair hung out on Maron’s deck for a bit and Iggy unexpectedly yanked his shirt off before proceeding with the interview because, as Maron puts it, “That’s how Iggy Pop comes, without a shirt. That’s how he does things, without a shirt.”
