Warpaint, Kurt Vile, Cass McCombs and more contribute to Songs for Swing Left compilation
To try and gather support for the midterm elections in the US, Kurt Vile, Warpaint, Cass McCombs and many more have contributed to a Songs for Swing Left compilation.
Songs for Swing Left has recruited the help of musicians to gain momentum for the Democrats across the US, particularly in districts where Trump won by a thin margin.
The free download already has 33 track contributions, with each artist giving a spoken introduction and a short message on how to get involved with Swing Left.
Kurt Vile covers his "Bassackwards", while Warpaint's Jenny Lee Lindberg and Emily Kokal perform "The Stall" from their Heads Up record.
Other contributions include The National's Matt Beringer, Cass McCombs, Jenny O, King Tuff, Lo Moon and many more.
The free download will introduce those in the US to local volunteers. The description reads, "If Democrats win back just 23 districts in the House of Representatives this year, we’ll take control of the House and be able to put a definitive check on the Trump agenda."
