Waka Flocka Flame working on EDM album with Skrillex & Diplo
Atlanta rapper, Waka Flocka Flame looks set for a change of direction as he aims to “make a name” in the dance scene.
Following the EDM boom in the States, the hip-hop star told HipHopDX of his intentions of crossing genres. “It’s already in the motion,” he told the rap publication. “Flosstradamus, Diplo, Skrillex. Some underground people, too. I want to create a name. I’ve been doing it in hip-hop so long.”
Waka also spoke about his experimentation with EDM in the past, saying that people didn’t ‘get it’ at the time. “People didn’t understand what I was saying, now they do. I see a lot of my students, I’m like the principal, I’m here to talk.”
Waka Flocka Flame is set to release new (rap) album Flockaveli 2 later this year.
