Vinyl sales in 2013 reach a 10 year UK high
Albums from the likes of Daft Punk, Arctic Monkeys, David Bowie and more have helped vinyl sales in the UK reach a 10-year high, new figures show.
So far in 2013, there have been more than 532,000 vinyl LPs sold, seeing a whopping 100% year-on-year increase. This has been helped by vinyl-centric campaigns from the likes of Boards of Canada, who come fourth in the list of the top ten highest-selling vinyl records of the year.
However, despite such positivity, vinyl sales still only make up just 0.8% of all album sales in the UK. Still, this is an increase on the 0.1% marketshare vinyl has had for the past six years.
