Villagers return with news of fourth album and share lead single "A Trick Of The Light"
Irish indie outfit Villagers return with news of their fourth album The Art Of Pretending To Swim, and lead single "A Trick Of The Light".
Following on from 2015's Darling Arithmetic, Villagers have today announced their fourth album The Art Of Pretending To Swim, due in September.
They also shared their lead single "A Trick Of The Light", that sees Villagers unite for a delicate ballad.
Frontman Conor O'Brien wrote, produced, mixed and primarily performed The Art Of Pretending To Swim in his Dublin studio.
Having collaborated with director Bob Gallagher, O'Brien explained, "Myself and Bob got together and discussed the song thematically and came to the conclusion that there was no other option but to make a short film in which we follow a dishevelled shamanistic protagonist who mysteriously triggers an altered state of consciousness in everyone he meets, or at least believes that he does. We also wanted lots of dancing and to inspire a general feeling of "what the hell did I just watch?" in the viewer.”
