Viet Cong share "Silhouettes", a new track from their upcoming eponymous debut
Viet Cong are streaming a new track called "Silhouettes" ahead of both their upcoming UK tour and their first-ever album.
Formed from the ashes of revered outfit Women, Calgary-based Viet Cong impressed us late last year with "Continental Shelf", which grabbed a spot on our Best Fit Fifty Most Essential Tracks Of 2014 list.
"Silhouettes" is a blistering kraut-punk tirade, with jagged axes and '80s synths bombarding the senses. There's a Joy Division-y weight in the emotive noises, but Nick Cave-isms and Arcade Fire expansiveness can also be gleaned. Really it only sounds like one thing: Viet Cong.
Viet Cong will release their self-titled full-length via Jagjaguwar on 19 January.
