U.S. Girls samples late pianist Glenn Gould on new track "Good Kinda High"
U.S. Girls' Meg Remy has released new song "Good Kinda High", which samples the late classical pianist Glenn Gould and appears on the deluxe edition of Uninvited Guests.
"Good Kinda High" is released today (22 October) alongside the deluxe version of Uninvited Guests, a collaborative project from producer Billy Wild that sees contemporary artists using samples of Gould's performances to create new songs.
Remy says, "I like to imagine Gould and I as two freaks on the same leash. Trying to be invisible trying to be seen."
Wild adds of the Uninvited Guests project, "This started seven years ago as a challenge on whether or not Glenn Gould could be made to sound current. The main thing I learned on Gould is that he truly belonged in this generation."
