Tune-yards working on “chaotic” new album
Thought Tune-yards’ previous outings were beautiful messes? Well, things are about to get even crazier – as Merrill Garbus reveals she’s working on a new record.
“Back in my little rehearsal studio in Oakland,” Garbus revealed recently. “I’ve been making a wild mess. Chaos. I’m trying anything and everything rhythmic, and sometimes it sounds like an out-of-control beast I cannot begin to tame. But the rule is: don’t try to get it right, just be in the middle of it.”
Said album is going by the working title of Sink-o. The Oakland musician confirmed the new in a recent piece she wrote for The Talkhouse about visiting Haiti. You can read that in full here.
