Try and escape the "deliciously dangerous Mayo Monster" in Glass Animals' new game
Glass Animals have a new companion game for recent single "Season 2, Episode 3", and it's available now for mobile devices and desktop.
A preview of the game appeared in the band's video for "Season 2, Episode 3", which you can watch above.
Glass Animals frontman Dave Bayley says of the new game and video:
"S02E03 is about someone who sits around all day playing video games, web shopping, feasting on Netflix and delivered food between cigarettes. Thats what you hear in the song… TVs going on and off, sounds that reference our fave video games, effects that were made to sound like they were off Cartoon Network, wavy lazy vibrato on everything… etc.
"The video was meant to visualize that, and what happens when you spend too much time on a computer and you try to hit ‘undo’ when you drop your chicken nugget, or when you watch too much Stanger Things and you start to think you can maybe move things with your mind. The main character’s life turns into a video game… and now you can play that game! You can throw the skateboard you’ve never really used, you can play with your food, you can attack your mad neighbour who makes too much noise doing what you can only imagine is building some kind of jet pack. But mainly you can get points. My high score so far is 3109. If you can beat me let me know. Okay I’m going to try to top it, bye."
The game is a collaboration between Glass Animals and Whoopi, who says of the game: “Creating this app was a lot of fun, because I was able to take the music video I directed and turn it into a music video game for the Glass Animals' fans to interact with on a different level. It’s what I want to see the direction of music videos go in in the future, because watching them is cool, but playing them is WAY more exciting!”
You can play the new game through your browser, or download the app for iOS and Android devices. Top tip: you can jump more than once.
Speaking to Best Fit about the album, Bayley told us how he got the idea for "Season 2, Episode 3": "Everyone knows someone who spends way too much time sitting on their arse watching TV and eating crisps. Doing absolutely nothing. Polishing their butt in the groove of the sofa..."
