Trudy and the Romance share new serenade "Doghouse"
Romance is in the air on Trudy and the Romance's new serenade, "Doghouse".
The lo-fi new single is the second to be shared from their forthcoming debut album, after January's "The Original Doo-Wop Spacemen".
Vocalist Olly Taylor says of the new single, ""Doghouse" is our Hollywood thud & number one hit in another dimension. Waiting on a lover & always caught in the rain, with glitter on its socks to put diamonds on the soles of your shoes. An all-night fiery dance-floor bop, half way to heaven on the roof of a seven car pile-up."
Of the accompanying monochrome visuals, Taylor explains it's "a noir with vibrant cartoons; troubled ne'er-do-well Little Johnny is lonely and out of luck. Fortunately magic sparks and the wonderfulworld comes to party."
Trudy and the Romance's debut album Sandman takes the same name as their 2016 single. Sandman saw the band work with producer David Pye (Wild Beasts). Taylor explains, "It’s a coming of age tale about asking for your innocence back. It’s a breakup album and loosely based on the hero’s journey."
