Troye Sivan returns with "Take Yourself Home"
Troye Sivan is back with his highly-anticipated single "Take Yourself Home".
"Take Yourself Home" is the first new offering from Sivan since featuring on is Allie X's "Love Me Wrong" in December 2019. In February, Sivan also co-wrote BTS' "Louder Than Bombs" with Allie X, Leland, and Bram Inscore.
He says of the single, ""Take Yourself Home" is one of my favourite songs I’ve ever written. The song is kind of a pep talk with yourself and the place you’re from. Grappling with your place in the world. I write these songs as a diary entry, then as life and places change and relationships change, songs can take on a new meaning entirely. Clearly that has happened for this song with what is going on in the world right now."
When announcing the single, Sivan revealed on socials that he wanted to spend his music video budget on working with freelance creatives. He's also launched a new merch line, which includes three t-shirts designed by Instagram artists, and all the proceeds will be donated to the World Health Organisation (WHO) COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund and Spotify’s COVID-19 Music Relief project. Sivan co-wrote his new single with frequent collaborator Leland, Oscar Görres (The Weeknd, Lauv, Taylor Swift), and Taylor Parx (Khalid, Ariana Grande).
