Trevor Sensor signs to Jagjaguwar, announces debut EP Texas Girls and Jesus Christ
Americana troubadour Trevor Sensor has penned a deal with Jagjaguwar and announced debut EP Texas Girls and Jesus Christ.
The 22-year-old Illinois native - an English major and fan of Marcel Proust and Dave Eggers - says of his music: “If I’m trying to do anything, it’s to be sincere. A Lot of singer/songwriters today are oriented in irony. It’s cooler to be lackadaisical rather than to try to be compelling.”
Ryan Ohm has directed the video for "Texas Girls and Jesus Christ", and says of the concept: “The film idea grew from the edge of town, dimly lit, local bar that Trevor and I had both spent time at – but separately and in different time zones. We wanted to try and recreate our version of these dintinctly odd atmospheres and the unique folks who inhabit them – the guys and gals who aren’t necessarily high on life, but can be when the night grows long.”
The Texas Girls and Jesus Christ EP is out 25 on Jagjaguwar.
