Tortoise break lengthy silence with "Gesceap" off The Catastrophist, their first LP since 2009
Tortoise are back. They'll release The Catastrophist, their first record since 2009 early next year, but you can hear the first single - "Gesceap" - now.
The Chicago quintet's new record will contain a cover of "Rock On" by the inimitable David Essex, featuring U.S. Maple/Dead Rider's Todd Rittmann. "Yonder Blue" also sees Yo La Tengo's Georgia Hubley provide guest vocals.
As well as the new long-player, Tortoise have announced a rare European tour, including a London show at the Village Underground on 23 February 2016. You can view all the announced dates on Thrill Jockey's website.
The Catastrophist is released via Thrill Jockey on 22 January 2016.
