A Kickstarter campaign has launched to help fund a tribute album to bluesman, Blind Willie Johnson, with the likes of Tom Waits and Sinead O’Connor getting on board to contribute music.
The campaign hopes to raise $125,000 for the production of the record, with $28,777 already pledged at the time of publication. The project has 30 more days until its 16 November deadline.
Recent Bon Iver collaborators, the Blind Boys of Alabama are also among the artists set to cover Blind Willie Johnson if the Kickstarter reaches its goal.
