Titus Andronicus announce Bob Mould-produced album with lead single "(I Blame) Society"
Titus Andronicus have announced their new Bob Mould-produced album, An Obelisk, alongside revealing the lead single "(I Blame) Society".
"(I Blame) Society" is the first new music from Titus Andronicus since last year's Home Alone On Halloween EP and A Productive Cough album.
The new single is taken from the band's forthcoming sixth album, An Obelisk, which is produced by label mate Bob Mould. Speaking to Stereogum about their upcoming record, Titus Andronicus vocalist Patrick Stickles says, "I’m very anxious about it. I’m worried we’re about to undo all the hard-earned victories we had last year."
Of their collaboration with Bob Mould, Stickles adds, "I respect him a lot but I still gotta be a little bit of a control freak."
A Productive Cough arrives just over a year ago. The album before that (The Most Lamentable Tragedy) arrived three years before, in 2015. On the short gap, Stickles says, "I’m thinking more in terms of constructing an era right now, than a single big chunk of something. Which is why it’s important for us to be following up the previous one."
Last year we captured Stickles performing Lou Reed and The Velvet Underground covers at End Of The Road festival.
