Tim Burgess returns with new single "Here Comes The Weekend"
Tim Burgess is back with his first new material of the year, "Here Comes The Weekend".
"Here Comes The Weekend" is Burgess' first new release of 2022, following his 2020 EP The Ascent Of The Ascended, and arrives with a video directed by Kevin Godley.
According to a press release, the new single is also the first taster of Burgess' forthcoming album, which will follow 2020's I Love The New Sky.
Burgess said of the single, "The idea was very much about two people who were distanced and wanted to connect but were finding it really difficult because of mobile phone signals and rain and time differences and jet lag. And I always knew the album should start with "Here Comes The Weekend". It's a simple song, and it’s a feeling more than anything."
