TikTok twins Railey and Seazynn Gilliland to play Tegan and Sara in High School series
It's been revealed that TikTok twins Railey and Seazynn Gilliland will play Tegan and Sara in the upcoming High School series.
Tegan and Sara's High School memoir was picked up by IMDb TV in May 2021 to be adapted into an original series, and yesterday (17 March) the first cast members were announced.
According to Deadline, twins Railey and Seazynn Gilliland are set to play Tegan and Sara in the series. Tegan and Sara discovered the leads on TikTok themselves. Cobie Smulders and Kyle Bornheimer have also been confirmed, and will play Tegan and Sara's parents.
Railey is set to appear in the series as the high school version of Tegan, while Seazynn will portray the high school version of Sara.
Tegan Quin said of discovering the twins on TikTok, "It felt kismet when I saw Railey and Seazynn for the first time on TikTok. There was something undeniably intriguing about them: They were sweet and original, impossible not to watch. I felt compelled to send Sara the video. ‘Too bad they don’t act,’ I texted her. Sara wasn’t deterred. They were performers, musical and dynamic. ‘You can’t teach charisma,’ Sara said, which they had in spades. Sara was relentless — these were the twins that had to play us. We were overjoyed when they were cast, and we couldn’t be more thrilled that it all worked out."
