Watch Tierra Whack cover Mary J. Blige and St. Vincent cover The Beatles for Ally Coalition show
Last night (21 December) during the seventh annual Ally Coalition Talent Show, Tierra Whack tackled a Mary J. Blige song while St. Vincent covered The Beatles.
Yesterday (21 December) Jack Antonoff hosted the likes of Hayley Williams, Brittany Howard, Tierra Whack, St. Vincent, Lana Del Rey, Sleater-Kinney and more during the seventh annual Ally Coalition Talent Show, which fundraises for homeless LGTBQ+ youth shelters.
Hayley Williams' cover of Massive Attack's "Teadrop" for the livestream even emerged earlier today (22 December), but this afternoon more videos have emerged of last night's performances.
One of them is Tierra Whack's cover of Mary J. Blige's "Not Gon' Cry", which she performed while wearing a furry coat and a bob wig.
St. Vincent's cover of The Beatles' "Martha My Dear" was also captured and uploaded to YouTube.
The National's Aaron Dessner also made an appearance for the Talent Show, delivering a performance of new Big Red Machine song "Brycie" - which is dedicated to his brother and The National bandmate Bryce Dessner.
Other performances include Clairo's cover of Norah Jones' "Sunrise", Maggie Rogers' performance of "Blood Ballet", Brittany Howard's cover of PKA's "Let Me Hear You (Say Yeah)" and more.
While some of the performances are available online, Spoon’s cover of Tom Petty’s "A Face In The Crowd", Shamir's take on Taylor Swift’s "Death By A Thousand Cuts", Claud’s version of Belle And Sebastian’s "Get Me Away From Here I’m Dying", MUNA’s cover of 4 Non Blondes’ "What’s Up", and more are yet to be shared.
