Thurston Moore joins black metal group Twilight
It’s been confirmed that former Sonic Youth man Thurston Moore has joined a black metal group.
Moore sure has been keeping busy since his band’s assumed split last year, announcing a new band Chelsea Light Moving last month, as well as performing various solo shows.
But now he seems set to be involved with black metal outfit Twilight (unrelated to the vampire film of the same name).
The band’s Blake Judd told 1st Five recently:
“You know Century Media could offer us a hundred thousand dollars to make that Twilight record and say: ‘Blake, you get ninety percent of that money but Thurston Moore’s not gonna be on the record, or, you can be on it and we’ll give you ten grand and that’s what you have to make it work.’ And I would, I would take the ten grand and work with Thurston. That’s like how much I love Sonic Youth.”
